Well, I feel like I can cross off a few items from my ‘To Do’ list.  If you’re reading this then you know I’ve launched my website and blog.  Probably the most difficult thing for me was developing my logo.  I hired a graphic designer to come up with some choices but unfortunately none of them felt right.  So I guess that pushed me to come up with it myself.  After many versions I think it finally feels like, ‘me’!  Last week, the day before my birthday, I received my new business stationary.  I think I may have a bit of a crazy thing for fine paper.  I think the most important thing for my wedding may have been our hand engraved invitations from a small shop in London.  Was that necessary; probably not, but to this day I still get sentimental when I see our copperplate engraving on a side table in our living room.  Well my business stationary is not hand engraved and I probably drove the shop who printed it  a little nuts (a lot nuts!), move it to the left 5cm, oh, too much, are you sure that is Pantone Color 1785…but its done.  I have no excuses now about catching up on some overdue thank you now!  I’ve added a picture of the copperplate from our invitations as well as a link to Gee Brothers, the shop that made it. I guess its been our favorite coaster!

I’m also excited about my new ipad.  I bought it for my business but I think its more of a toy  for my 3 year old.  The ipad needs a good wipe down before my design meetings.  There’s no question from all the  sticky fingerprints that its getting a good workout.  She’s already figured out how to save some of her drawings.  Check out her latest cake design for ‘Cake Doodle App’ and click on the picture if you want a great creative game, perfect for 15 hour flights!  Good thing for screen protectors!  I was able to grab it just long enough to snap a shot!

I’m super excited about my buying/beach trip this month to Phuket, Thailand.  I’m a sucker for Jim Thompson fabrics and strategically, there is an Jim Thompson OUTLET a hop, skip, and a jump from where were staying.  Last summer, I drug my 4 month pregnant body, my 2 year old, my visiting brother, and my husband to the bi-yearly Jim Thompson sale in Bangkok.  Its something I had wanted to do for years.  Is it strange that I can’t think of a more romantic anniversary gift than 30 yards of fabric for a pair of new sofas?  One of the top managers for Jim Thompson saw me struggling to sort out how to ship all our purchases back to Hong Kong.  She proceeded to have her head of logistics ‘make’ boxes for the fabric and set up the pick-up and delivery with DHL.  This is when being preganant comes in handy; oh, and maybe a handsome husband as well!  Check out my daughter and my brother in the photo below. We were headed to the sale…there was something for everyone!  Click the photo for a link to the Jim Thompson site.

So, I’m planning on loading up again on fabulous fabrics for my current jobs and for my Etsy Shop.  I should have some new pillows and small gifts in my shop very soon!  Stay tuned.
